Firethorn Trust acquires former Haleon site in £70 million redevelopment
In Q4 2025, Firethorn Trust acquired the former Haleon manufacturing site on Norreys Drive, Maidenhead, for an undisclosed price, with total redevelopment investment estimated at around £70 million.
The 9.3-acre site comprises approximately 323,776 sq ft of industrial and office space used for oral-care manufacturing, including Sensodyne, for around 60 years, previously occupied by Beecham's, SmithKline Beecham and GSK.
Firethorn plans to redevelop the site into modern industrial employment space, expected to create up to 530 jobs.
CBRE advised Haleon; Quartz and Stephenson Harwood advised Firethorn.
Wellcome Genome Campus plans expansion to 440 acres

Allies and Morrison has been appointed by Wellcome Genome Campus to lead the review and evolution of its masterplan in South Cambridgeshire.
The genomics and biodata campus will expand from 125 to 440 acres, with the masterplan setting out integration of the existing site with the expansion area east of the A1301 road.
The campus is evolving from a gated research centre into an open, publicly accessible destination.
Ellison Institute reaches topping-out milestone at Oxford campus
The Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford marked the topping-out of Littlemore House, the principal building of its new campus at Littlemore, on 11 February.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the research and education complex will span approximately 29,600 sq m across Littlemore House and an adjacent Oxford Science Park plot, connected by an elevated woodland walkway.
Facilities will include flexible research laboratories, a library, a 250-seat auditorium and collaborative spaces.
Laing O'Rourke is the main contractor and completion is targeted for 2027.
