🇩🇪 Sixth Street recapitalises €360 million German portfolio

Sixth Street has partnered with K2MB Capital to recapitalise a portfolio of around 20 post-acute rehabilitation clinics across Germany, understood to be the Asklepios-controlled MEDICLIN estate, announced on 9 July 2026.

The clinics have been held since 1999 by a Patrizia-managed institutional fund and will continue to be structured with a new Patrizia institutional fund established for Sixth Street and K2MB.

A 2022 extension replaced leases expiring in 2027 with a 15-year term running to 2037, covering more than 300,000 sq m and around €37 million of annual rent at the time.

BNP Paribas Real Estate and Cushman & Wakefield advised Patrizia; Latham & Watkins acted for Sixth Street and K2MB, and Clifford Chance for Patrizia.

The parties have not disclosed terms, though JLL estimates the recapitalisation at €360 million, the largest European healthcare deal of the second quarter.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine has opened the £20 million Liverpool Accelerate Laboratory, the UK's first Containment Level 3 robotic AI lab for infectious disease research.

Formerly the Liverpool Robotic Infection Research Laboratory, it is a steel-clad high-containment insertion within LSTM's Liverpool Life Sciences Accelerator at 1 Daulby Street.

The £25 million accelerator building sits next to the Royal Liverpool Hospital and offers around 30,000 sq ft of lettable space over four floors.

It was developed with the former Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and completed in 2017.
