GalCap Europe acquires €100 million Heidelberg life science portfolio

Austrian investment manager GalCap Europe has acquired a portfolio of three life science properties totalling approximately 13,800 sq m of laboratory and research space at the Technologiepark Im Neuenheimer Feld in Heidelberg from Sparkasse Heidelberg, on behalf of a German pension fund.
The portfolio, valued at approximately €100 million, is fully let to companies and institutions active in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, and is situated close to the German Cancer Research Centre and Heidelberg University Hospital.
The acquisition marks GalCap's entry into the German market, expanding a life science portfolio that previously comprised four properties in Austria.
The manager intends to pursue further acquisitions in Munich and Berlin.
PRBB Ciutadella precision medicine and research building in Barcelona

Construction has begun on PRBB Ciutadella, a new precision medicine and biomedical research building on the former Mercat del Peix site, as the flagship facility of the Mercat del Peix research complex within the Ciutadella del Coneixement initiative.
The €104 million multi-year investment will deliver c. 25,000 sq m of space for around 800 researchers and some 60 research groups from five BIST centres: IRB Barcelona, the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), ICFO and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG).
The project is intended to reinforce Barcelona's scientific ecosystem and consolidate the Ciutadella area as a major hub for biomedical and precision medicine research in southern Europe.
Under construction as of Q2 2026, completion and opening are targeted for 2028.

Practice Plus Group forms PropCo following Narayana Health acquisition

Practice Plus Group, owned by Indian hospital operator Narayana Health, has established Practice Plus Group Property Ltd, a dedicated real estate subsidiary incorporated on 11 March 2026 to acquire, hold, develop and maintain hospital infrastructure across the United Kingdom.
The new PropCo, formed in Q1 2026, sits alongside the operating companies in an OpCo/PropCo structure that separates property ownership from clinical operations; such structures commonly allow property vehicles to borrow against assets or, over time, partner with real estate investors.
The move follows Narayana Health’s approximately £189 million acquisition of Practice Plus Group Hospitals announced in late 2025, bringing a portfolio of 12 hospitals and surgical centres, plus additional treatment and diagnostic facilities, into the platform.
